Job Summary

The Facilities Assistant role is a vital role in the ministry of Hayes Barton Baptist Church. This role is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the church facilities to ensure that a clean and safe physical environment is available for the ministry of the church.

Essential Functions

1. Accept and complete tasks as assigned by the Facilities Director (and Food Services Director as appropriate), which may include but are not limited to:

• Cleaning and maintaining the facility
• Preparing the baptistery for use
• Setting up facilities for meetings and programs
• Opening and closing the building
• Scrubbing/buffing floors
• Carpet cleaning
• Maintenance projects such as painting and deep cleaning
• Assisting with food preparation
• Assisting with preparation and cleaning of Communion vessels, baptismal garments, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent
2. Three years of experience in facility, custodial or maintenance work
3. Some knowledge and hands on experience with church facilities, and equipment (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, fire, security, etc.)

Physical Requirements

1. Able to speak, hear and see clearly

2. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

3. Ability to climb a ladder

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
