Overview:
Axient is seeking a Facility Manager to support our customer in Ft. Greely, Alaska.
Responsibilities:
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
  • Serve as a Construction and Facilities Manager in support of the United States Army in Fort Greely, Alaska.
  • Support the planning and execution of installation logistics capabilities and engineering
    activities in support of Fort Greely, USASMDC, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and others.
  • Oversee the Mechanical, Structural, Interior Plumbing, HVAC, Fire Suppression Systems, Electrical, Compressed Air and other functional areas as assigned.
  • Oversee subcontractors and service providers performing in any of the aforementioned area of responsibility.
  • Provide direction and support to the government Facility Supervisor.
  • Support the coordination, development, review, and approval of analyses and work orders
    related to the integration of Army mission activities.
  • Inspect work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, policies, regulations, and standards.
  • Provide status to Integrated Product Team (IPT) members and program leadership as required.
  • Support various public works and program management efforts, as directed related to the
    integration of all support required to enable the US Army’s mission.
  • Coordinate and facilitate contract work orders and develop methods to prioritize work.
  • Conduct high-priority Quality Assurance (QA) activities in conjunction with the Department of Public Works (DPW).
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must have an active and transferrable DoD security clearance with current investigation at the required level. Must be able to maintain the required clearance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree OR six (6) years of experience as a Facility Manager at a comparable level of responsibility.
  • Ability to manage complex facilities, construction, or environmental efforts and the development of engineering projects, work effectively with others, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Plan, organize, and direct the work of teams or task forces conducting comprehensive trade studies, technical projects, and problem resolution.
  • Develop strong working relationships and rapport with subordinate, peer, and management personnel within the home organization and with contemporary organizations and contract partners.
  • This position is located on Fort Greely, Alaska.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. Army Installation Management activities and responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Army regulations, policies and procedures relating to facility support on Army installations.
  • Experience coordinating and monitoring performance of facilities related maintenance and operations.
  • Understanding of major and minor MILCON project management from Design Charrette through Final Design and the experience to provide insight to stakeholders.
  • Ability to assist the Government during design reviews on design packages for supported projects.
