Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is in search of a technician to join our Facilities and Logistics team. The successful candidate will assist with maintenance of the systems and structures of our 17-building complex, enabling our amazing employees to do their jobs. We aid in the development, implementation, and logistics of the many programs at the lab.

Primary Duties:

• Performs work within a variety of technical fields including electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, etc.
• Performs repair and maintenance, and preventative maintenance on equipment, such as roof top units, air handlers, boilers, chillers and pumps, cooling towers, generators, exhaust fans, etc.
• Orders parts and supplies to meet maintenance requirements
• Assists in planning and executing moves of critical equipment
• Completes assigned workorders
• Identifies and contacts potential vendors to obtain quotes

Required qualifications:

• Must be a U.S. citizen and be willing to obtain a U.S. government clearance.
• Have a good working knowledge of all trades.
• Ten years of experience.

Candidate will also be expected to:

• Know the tools of the trades and know how to operate them safely.
• Be willing to work in all types of weather conditions.
• Communicate effectively.
• Work independently with little direction.
• Change direction at a moment’s notice.
• Complete a job once started, including clean-up.
• Maintain a positive mental attitude under stressful situations.
• Develop and maintain great working relationships with colleagues, customers, and vendors.
• Teach our group new things.
• Integrate into our team’s working culture.
