Summary of Duties:
Reporting to the Principal Investigator, with supplemental supervision through external partner Valley Cities Behavioral Health, the Family Peer Navigator will participate in an active research study focused on improving access and engagement in coordinated specialty care programs for youth experiencing the early stages of psychosis as well as their families. The Family Peer Navigator will work with a multidisciplinary team that includes behavioral health researchers as part of Washington State Center of Excellence in Early Psychosis clinical staff at coordinated specialty care programs, and other community-based organizations.
This position will participate in implementation of a grant funded research program with practices that are effective and consistent with the goals and mission of the department. Responsibilities include serving as a community support liaison, assisting youth and their families to navigate access to specialty care, collecting research data, and assessing study data. The incumbent will work closely with the Principal Investigator, New Journey's Clinical Service Manager, Research Coordinators, and community organizations, and serve as a liaison to ensure effective communication and appropriate data collection and integrity.
This position will allow for flexibility to accommodate the incumbents desired FTE between 50-100% (20-40 hours/week). FTE will be determined upon hire.

Required Qualifications:
High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty OR equivalent education/experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Specialty: Experience in family social services, community advocacy programs, mental/behavioral health services, or related field; relevant education may be substituted.
- Ability to work independently, and ability to take appropriate autonomous initiative to carry out study related functions.
- Outstanding ethics and confidentiality in dealing with scientific data and results.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products (e.g., SharePoint, PowerPoint).
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends on occasion to meet the needs of the project, including scheduling participant visits and contacts, as well as meeting project deadlines.
- Ability to drive, with a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations.
- Ability to engage individuals in a professional manner with a trauma informed approach.
- Experience navigating mental health services as a primary caregiver.

Monthly Salary: Range 38, $3,096 - $4,117 (pro-rated per FTE) | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
