At a Glance!LCC is looking for a motivated individual that is customer-service oriented and enjoys working with numbers to join our small but mighty Finance Team! The Finance Team manages all financial operations for the College. The Finance Assistance is the key person for assisting Accounts Payable, backing up Cashiering, and providing excellent customer service to faculty, staff, and students at the College. This person will also demonstrate commitment to fostering and supporting an environment that honors diversity, equity and inclusion.
The Finance Assistant coordinates with various Finance Team members and provides backup to the College’s main cashier. The classification for the Finance Assistant is Fiscal Specialist 1. This position is 15-18 hrs/week working no more than 75 hours per month. The typical schedule is Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9:00 am to 3 pm. The Fiscal Specialist 1 reports directly to the Budget Manager.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities
- Greeting and acknowledging every guest upon entry
- Create a welcoming, inclusive environment by providing excellent customer service at all times
- Assist Accounts Payable with filing, check printing, check distribution, and various projects
- Maintain Accounts Receivable check log
- Serve customers as back up cashier.
- Assist with annual file archiving and public records requests
- Assist with documentations of Finance processes
- Serve as point of contact for inquiries, as needed; assist students, staff, faculty and community members in person, over the phone and by email. Research, interpret, decide and answer a wide variety of questions and concerns.
- Deliver and pick up accounting transactions between cashiering and finance daily
- Perform day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining databases and files.
- Support and advance the LCC strategic plan.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Accounting/cash handling experience OR fiscal record keeping experience
- Strong attention to detail & effective time management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications
- Ability to work in a semi-open office setting with frequent interruptions
- Promote the welfare and best interest of students at all times
- The ability to perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with applicable laws, regulations and goals of the institution, community and community college system
Preferred Qualifications
- An Associate of Arts Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or closely related field
- Knowledge of Washington state higher education laws and regulations
- Experience working with higher education
- Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat products
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft software is highly desirable
