Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $30.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application)
***NOTE: This position currently qualifies for a hybrid telework option with routine office and remote workdays. The NC Department of Environmental Quality trusts our employees to be self-motivated and successful in hybrid/remote roles. Telework options are subject to change at the discretion of management.***
This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Environmental Quality State Energy Program.
This temporary position provides daily fiscal duties for the State Energy Office including fiscal monitoring and operating budget activities for staff and sub-grantee agencies. Position reviews and approves monthly sub-grantee reimbursement requests for payment through NCAS (North Carolina Accounting System) and works with other fiscal staff on sub-grantee monitoring duties for program compliance with State fiscal guidelines and generally accepted accounting principles.Key Responsibilities:
- Fiscal monitoring of operating budget
- Reviews and approves monthly sub-grantee reimbursement requests

Demonstrated experience of generally accepted accounting principles- Demonstrated experience preparing written findings and/or analyzing financial information in verbal and/or written form
- Demonstrated experience reviewing and documenting compliance with laws and regulations
Bachelor's degree in accounting, banking, finance, business administration, economics, or a related discipline from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
