YOUR ROLE

You will be a key member of a team responsible for the Financial Planning & Analysis for Long Term Care. You will perform and support a variety of duties within the team including the monthly/quarterly financial close and analytics, multi-year and operating plans, updating models, and supporting special projects. You will partner with and support other teams in Finance and Actuarial Services.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Support U.S. GAAP close process for Long Term Care
    • Maintain, update, and operate LTC GAAP source of earnings analysis, incorporating key one-time item attributions and adding functionality based on business needs
    • Perform analysis of GAAP results, providing monthly/quarterly updates and analytics for close reviews
    • Analyze trends to help inform financial forecasts
  • Develop new analytics and reporting to support LDTI analysis and disclosure, partnering with Actuarial to drive consistent messaging
  • Support Long Term Care forecasting processes
    • Support trend analysis and development of reporting of various forecasts (Multi-Year Plan, Operating Plan, Driver-Based Forecast)
    • Monitor controls framework
  • Support consolidation of FP&A close and planning processes
  • Build relationships with key data suppliers and customers such as other teams within Finance, Investments, Actuarial, and Reinsurance
  • Develop and conduct reviews with focus on both process controls and continuous forecast improvement
  • Support team with special projects and research requests as needed

MUST HAVE / WHAT YOU BRING

  • 5+ years financial analysis experience
  • Strong modeling and excel skills
  • Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to drill down to root cause, understand and articulate underlying business reason and apply appropriate judgement
  • Detail oriented and ability to work independently
  • Ability to work successfully on cross-functional teams and manage projects

NICE TO HAVE

  • Knowledge of Insurance products
  • Prior insurance and/or finance industry experience
  • Ability to effectively influence members of other departments and teams
