Bay Aging is seeking a full-time Fiscal Assistant to provide support to programs and services of Bay Aging. They will complete the following job tasks: reconciling invoices, processing payments, entering data into computer systems, writing business reports, filing documents, payroll processing, and attending meetings. Candidates with a high school degree or equivalent and 3-5 years of bookkeeping experience; proficient in the use of Excel (e.g., formulas, reports, graphs); experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge or similar enterprise general ledger software, and working knowledge of other Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Word, Outlook) are encouraged to apply. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Primary responsibility for monthly billings for Bay Homecare, Adult Daycare, Veteran HHHA, private pay, and other clients.

  • Receive and compile billing data from internal sources
  • Assemble and process online invoices via various payer portals in a timely manner
  • Create and issue monthly paper invoices to fee for service clients.
  • Act as primary contact with payers for any billing/accounts receivable issues that arise
  • Process credit card payments for services via online portal
  • Maintain client list, confirm eligibility with Home Care management.

2. Primary responsibility for the posting of cash receipts to the General Ledger

3. Act as the primary back-up to existing personnel in payroll processing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable

4. Act as primary bookkeeper for Bay Aging Foundation

  • Process receipt of contributions from various donors, including coding to appropriate program
  • Balance Bay Aging Foundation checking and investment accounts on a monthly basis
  • Produce periodic reports for senior management as requested


KNOWLEDGE

  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficient in the use of Excel (e.g., formulas, reports, graphs)
  • Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge or similar enterprise general ledger software
  • Working knowledge of other Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Word, Outlook)

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Office-based position with minimal physical requirements (ability to lift 20lbs, walking and climbing stairs). No independent travel required around the area served by Bay Aging.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Graduate with a minimum of three to five years bookkeeping experience. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Experience with online medical billing processes and procedures would be a plus.

FLSA status: This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
