The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for the daily operations of reservations, food and beverage, special events, and other such departments to deliver an exciting, fun-filled, and memorable experience for our visitors. Duties include managing team members to ensure spectacular customer service, handling payments, observing budgets, and evaluating all on-site dining outlets’ performance. This management position is a full-time role that manages subordinate staff and reports to the General Manager.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Food and Beverage
Our Food and Beverage staff provide guests with a wide range of delicious meals and snacks. Their facilities can include on-site dining options such as a full-service restaurant, food truck, concession-style amenities, and ice cream shops; and management of seasonal supervisors responsible for these facilities.
  • Manages daily activities of food and beverage services, including adherence to quality and safety standards;
  • Oversees food and beverage inventory and budget control;
  • Analyze trends to promote products internally to increase sales and reduce waste; and,
  • Assists with menu planning and plate presentation (food photography skills are a plus).
Other Essential Duties
  • Assists the Home Office marketing department with guest communications;
  • Coordinates with home office marketing department on camp-resort specific promotions;
  • Seeks out new and creative initiatives to increase sales at camp-resort;
  • Works with Revenue Manager on KPI’s and analyzing trends in critical areas;
  • Responsible for establishing standards and setting expectations;
  • Hires, trains, and schedules team to coordinate workflows that maintain compliance with budget guidelines;
  • Coaches team members to ensure continuous personal and professional development;
  • Serves as the location’s “Manager on Duty” on an as-needed basis;
  • Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group or department;
  • Coordinates and oversees various projects from start to finish;
  • Collaborates with camp-resort team and home office departments;
  • Responds to guest inquiries using the Northgate Resort service recovery guidelines;
  • Presents a professional appearance and attitude at all times to ensure top-notch customer service and memorable experience for our guests;
  • Required to perform the same tasks as the individuals supervised; and
  • Participates in other projects and activities as assigned.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma;
  • Two years of management experience; and
  • Experience in customer service, hospitality, and management preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong computer skills;
  • Photography skills preferred;
  • Strong organizational, motivational, and leadership skills;
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong attention to detail, speed, and accuracy;
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong work ethic and a positive attitude;
  • Required to work nights, weekends, and holidays;
  • Work with minimal supervision; and,
  • Maintain composure under pressure.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Able to move up to 50 lbs;
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position;
  • Regularly move throughout the location;
  • Continuously climb, balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and crawl;
  • Use arms and hands to reach, and lift; and,
  • Able to communicate verbally, including projecting the voice across distance in everyday and loud situations.
