Job Purpose or Objective(s): You will increase the number of tribally licensed adoption and foster resource homes through diligent risk assessment and preparation of written home studies to ensure Choctaw children are living in safe, stable and nurturing families. You will report to the Foster Care Manager.
Pay Rate: $28.38 per hour | Hourly, Full Time | 8am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday with Saturday and Sunday OFF. | This position will cover caseload north of Crowder up to Tulsa, Oklahoma and surrounding counties. Travel will be required as needed along with evening work to conduct home studies. Home office is in Crowder, OK. | This position is eligible for the option of weekly pay. |
Primary Tasks:
You will complete comprehensive psycho-social home studies for prospective Choctaw resource homes.
You will gather background information about the family’s functioning and dynamics through interviewing, conducting background searches and collecting and interpreting data and collateral information.
You will develop and implement recruitment strategies and activities for the Adoption & Foster Care Program to increase the number of Choctaw Nation Resource Homes.
You will complete required paperwork and written home studies following agency procedures, state, federal and tribal laws.
You will counsel and educate families before and throughout placement of children in resource homes including education on licensing process and assisting them in meeting these requirements.
You will evaluate the capacity of potential Choctaw resource homes to provide for a safe, stable and nurturing environment for Choctaw children.
You will conduct annual reassessments to re-evaluate and examine resource homes to endure on going com compliance with program policies and state, federal and tribal laws and licensing.
You will conduct retention calls and home visits.
You will report on legal and safety risks to supervisors to bring awareness to potentially serious problems which may arise in the Choctaw resource home.
You will participate in the agency staff training programs and seminars/conferences in the community at large.
You will perform other responsibilities as may be assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Social Service field
Computer proficiency with spreadsheet software, and data processing
Excellent communication skills
Two years’ experience in child welfare, foster care, adult protective services, or home study contractor experience.
