Minneapolis based pond & fountain company seeking Fountain, Aeration and Pond Service Technicians. The position is full-time, with both seasonal and year-round opportunities available. The seasonal position requires availability during the months of March – November.

Duties and Accountabilities:

We are currently seeking technicians that will use electrical, plumbing, shop and irrigation skills to install, service, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of fountain brands. The position will require strong electro-mechanical skills, customer service skills, regular interaction with customers and being a contributing member of a great team environment. Working, driving, and installation in a variety of weather conditions is routine. A strong commitment to safety, consistent with company policy, is a must. This position will work as part of a team to serve customers and maintain an organized Pond & Fountain Service Department.

Fountain, Aeration and Pond Service Technician Duties Include: Install, remove, service, and maintain floating fountains and pond aeration equipment for a variety of customers. You will also spray treat for algae, submersed and floating weeds, shoreline weeds, and any other unwanted vegetation using boats to maintain ponds, lakes, and various aquatic areas. Remove nuisance, invasive vegetation through manual removal efforts (occasionally).

Responsibilities:

• Service, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of fountain and aeration styles and brands, as well as assist in the assembly and installation of new units.
• Assist in repairs, service requests, and installation of floating fountains and aeration systems.
• Use job specific tools and manual efforts for trenching to run conduit to small electrical panels.
• Provides customer service and communicates effectively with customers.
• Works responsibly with management to develop and implement strategies based on customer goals and expectations.
• Ability to effectively use the company database and mobile CRM software.
• Performs all other duties as assigned. Flexibility is a must for this role.

Knowledge and Skill:

• Electric motor & pump knowledge, mechanically inclined, some electrical knowledge preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of fountain & aeration equipment is preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of aquatic herbicides and algaecides, what they control, and all safety requirements is preferred, but not required. The ideal candidate will have an aquatic herbicide license or be willing to obtain licensure.
• Experience in the construction, landscaping or horticulture industries, golf-course maintenance, or low-voltage electricity is a plus, but not required.
• Passion for the outdoors and basic swimming skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
• High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate).
• Work outdoors in summer weather conditions, including sun, rain and heat.
• Not afraid to get dirty!
• All other duties as assigned.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret CRM software and company documents.
• Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication, with supervisor, clients, staff, vendors, etc.
• Daily travel around the twin cities area in company provided vehicle. Will spend approximately 80-90% of time away from the office during business hours completing fountain & pond services at customer job sites.

Essential Functions - Employee must be able to:

• Walk, stand and kneel for extended periods of time.
• Bend, twist and stoop repeatedly.
• Must be willing to learn how to operate loading and unloading equipment.
• Communicate with Service Manager or immediate supervisor.
• Follow instructions to operate a clean and safe working environment.
• Communicate with customers in a fast-paced environment.
• Be punctual and dependable.
• Ability to safely winch and launch a boat and when required, the ability to move or carry a Jon/utility boat to the shoreline up to a distance of 100 ft.
• Ability to pull electrical wire/power cables, dig trenches, bury conduit/power cables and lift, move and install weighted cable and/or tubing used for aeration installations.
• Must be able to service fountain motors that vary in size and weight. This will require the ability to on occasion flip fountains over, lift or move fountains ranging from 50 to 100 lbs.
• Must be able to wear all personal protection equipment needed in various weather conditions.

Full-time Employment with both seasonal and year-round opportunities available. Schedule: 8-hour shift, Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (hours may slightly vary). Overtime opportunities may be available during the spring/summer/fall seasons.

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Education and Experience:

• Mechanical and electrical knowledge: 1 year (preferred).
• High school or equivalent (required). Some college helpful but not required.
