Job Description:
JADAK is looking for an FPGA Design Engineer to join an Advanced Imaging Group developing Machine Vision systems for Medical Devices and other markets.
Specific Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) design engineer with industry or intern experience in machine vision, memory control, and/or digital image processing. Candidate will be working with a team of experienced FPGA, Hardware and Software engineers to develop product designs for a wide range of markets and applications.
Candidate will participate in all phases of the project from specification and modeling, HDL capture and synthesis, through FPGA verification and unit testing.
Candidate will implement extensions of current Verilog-based FPGA designs, as well as create new designs utilizing existing Verilog modules as well as creating new cores. Implementation may require creating test software or scripts to verify designs.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Characteristics:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering. GPA of 3.0 or greater
- Experience in either Verilog (preferred) or VHDL development languages.
- Experience in simulation, synthesis, and placement software tools such as ModelSim, Xilinx Vivado ISE, and Altera Quartus development toolsets.
- Experience implementing industry-standard interfaces (e.g. SPI, UART, SDRAM, DDR3, PCIe, Ethernet) is a plus.
- Experience with digital scopes, logic analyzers, and other verification tools.
- Familiarity with CMOS Image Sensors desired
- Familiarity with firmware development, C, C++ and Python desired
Physical Requirements:
- Mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer.
- Ability to use vison to read computer screen and read printed materials.
