French Preschool Teacher
Smith Street Maternelle, an independent French-American preschool in Brooklyn is expanding this fall with the opening of Smith Street Arts et Lettres, a new, arts- based, K-8 program. Our bilingual curriculum emphasizes a Reggio-Emilia inspired, holistic approach to education with artistic expression as the foundation of a child’s social emotional development.

Responsibilities

• Refining and implementing developmentally appropriate curricula
• Maintaining a blog with photos and updates of classroom life

• Preparing lessons & activities in

• Supervising assistant teacher(s) collaboration with assistant teacher(s)

• Other duties as assigned

• Communicating with parents (2x yearly conference reports;2x yearly parent/teacher conferences from 12 – 7pm)

Job Requirements

• Ability to speak French fluently; native fluency preferred

• Willingness to obtain Infectious Disease Training

• Willingness to submit to Background

• Advanced Degree in Education Check by the Department of

• Willingness to obtain CPR certification Investigation and State Clearance

• Willingness to obtain State Mandated Registry Reporter Certification

Full Time Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm, Mon – Fri

Employment Start Date: ASAP

Sick Leave: up to 10 paid sick days per school year

Vacation: 15 weeks paid vacation (as per the 2022 – 23 school calendar)

Pay: $27.00 - $33.00 per hour
