Located in the Avenue of the Stars neighborhood, Hotel Indigo Frisco is set in a vibrant area full of upscale boutiques and restaurants, combined with an exciting array of recreation and entertainment options. Soft lighting, natural materials such as wood and exposed brick, and light flowing in through plentiful glass panes create a modern and comfortable feel from the moment you enter our hotel. Funky splashes of color and vintage-style light fixtures add a whimsical edge.

Job Duties Include:

  • Be the warm welcome that kicks off a memorable guest experience
  • Always Acknowledge Rewards Club members and returning guests, in person or on the phone
  • Take and manage guest bookings, up-selling opportunities and telling them about ways to improve their stay
  • Process credit transactions for pre-paid reservations, file Credit card authorizations and process all charges for check out.
  • Start every stay right by swiftly checking guests in and out – take IDs, hand out room keys.
  • Stay one step ahead of guests’ needs – record and act on their preferences, and handle their messages, requests, questions and concerns with diligence.
  • Be a trusted contact for all guests. Help them with anything from bill issues to local knowledge, and loop in management when necessary
  • Stay safe at all times. Inside or outside the building, beware of the surroundings and personal who may not be a registered guest.
  • Take pride in your appearance and place as a brand ambassador
  • Always know what events and activities are on the day’s schedule to help ensure group and events are able to operate their stay smoothly.
  • Jump into other ad-hoc duties when your colleagues need your help

What we're looking for

  • Communication skills - guests will need to come to you with concerns as well as compliments, so you’ll be easy to talk to
  • Your problem-solving skills will turn issues into opportunities so every guest leaves with great memories
  • Fluency in the local language - extra language skills would be great, but not essential
  • Literate and tech-savvy - you’ll need a good grasp of reading, writing, basic math and computers Flexibility - night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job
  • You’ll have a high school diploma or qualification. A college or university degree would be a bonus, but not essential
  • Experience - ideally, you’ll have spent at least one year in a front desk or guest service position
  • Strength - sometimes you’ll need to lift, push, and pull big objects up to 50lbs (23 kg). This can involve bending and kneeling

Qualifications:

  • Previous hotel-related experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate with the public, hotel staff, and management in a professional manner.
  • Knowledge of surrounding areas and local events.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to proper credit, and procedures.
  • Able to properly secure guest information.
  • Ability to learn safety, emergency, and accident prevention policies and procedures.
  • Skilled in the use of front office equipment.
  • Knowledge of proper telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
