The Front Desk Secretary is empowered to coordinate and facilitate the flow of patient information from admission to discharge. Areas of responsibility include reception, information processing, and the management of the medical record. The Secretary must present a positive, proactive professional image as the first point of customer contact in the program, recognizing the importance of interpersonal skills in delivery of service to internal and external customers. High school diploma or equivalent required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Superior written and oral communication skills essential to meet job requirements. Must be optimistic, enthusiastic, and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel. Must work collaboratively with all members of the health care team. Interact with the patients in a friendly, courteous manner.
