Pay Range:
$22.00 – 25.00/hour dependent on experience, education, and expertise. Overtime rate of time and a half goes into effect after 40 hours/week. At 40 hours a week, the expected gross amount is $880 – 1,000/week or $45,760 – 52,000 annually. Taxes will be withheld.

Benefits:
Family will offer 7 PTO days to be used for vacation, sick and personal days. Nanny will have 6 paid holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day) as they fall on a nanny’s work day. In addition, when the family travels, the nanny will have one additional week per year off and paid. The family will reimburse miles driven during the workday at the federal mileage rate. The family will guarantee pay at 40 hours/week (or decided scheduled hours), even in the case where the nanny is given unrequested time off, when the family vacations or ends a day early.

Children:
The family has three children, a son who is 6 years old, a daughter who is 4 years old and a new baby girl born July 10th. B6 is a great kid with a great heart. He is observant, intelligent and can be cautious. He has good friends and is beginning to explore his independence. B6 is good with routine, is active and social. He loves playing outside in the neighborhood especially with the next door neighbor boys his age, riding scooters, bikes, playing Pokemon cards, the trampoline and swimming. B6 will be in 1st grade this fall. They walk to and from school 1/4 mile with parents or nanny; school hours are 8:30 – 3:30 p.m. G4 has a lot of personality, a great heart and is a negotiator. She is fearless and loves to keep up with her brother and the boys next door. She likes to play outside on the trampoline and ride scooters to the park. She also enjoys coloring and art, pretend play in her play kitchen and has a great imagination with her make-believe friend. G4 will attend preschool in the fall 8:00 – 11:30 a.m. This is a 10 minute drive; the nanny will pick her up each day. G4 has lunch at home; she doesn’t nap but may watch a half hour of a show and have some quiet time. Baby girl arrived July 10th and is along for the ride. The parents would say they are routine people and that they have a nice bedtime routine and sleep times. They look to have a solid nap schedule established with Baby but will also flex to the big kid schedules as needed. Mom plans to breastfeed exclusively for a year or so.

Family values:
This family hopes to teach their children to have emotional intelligence (be aware of their thoughts and feelings and be able to process and verbalize). They are not helicopter parents and value independent play, exploration, and conflict resolution without their constant involvement; they want them to learn some of that on their own. Ultimately the parents want their kids to be kind, help others and develop personal responsibility. They are an active family who enjoy going to the park to play, taking hikes and bike rides, swimming, kayaking, movie nights and lemonade stands. They have memberships to the zoo, museum center, pool, nature center, and aquarium and would like the nanny to take the kids out of the house for activities. The family attends mass together on Sundays and works to do chores together around the house. When it comes to guidance, the parents work to use positive reinforcement and offer “alone time” when the kids need a break. Both parents will work outside of the house, though Dad does have freedom to work from a home office occasionally. They would say the best thing about parenting is creating their own little family unit. Their children encourage them to live acts of forgiveness, love and patience. They love watching them develop and look to help them engage in whatever they want to do in life.

Duties include:
Basic care and clean up after children. Children’s meal prep. Children’s laundry. Unloading the dishwasher. Keeping the house picked up and orderly, wiping counters/table, vacuuming, putting stuff away, etc. Transportation. Occasional errand or grocery pick up (just a couple items not a full shop). Engaging with the kids is always the priority.

Pets:
The family has one dog, a nice 10-year old yellow Lab. The only pet care is to let her in and out; she rings a bell. The nanny is welcome to take her with them on walks.

Covid Approach: (4) Moderately Open
The family’s approach to COVID has evolved (becoming less strict over time), but they still take it seriously, especially with a newborn in the house. Leaves home for work, exercise, shopping, and other activities as desired. Regularly socializes with more than 10 unique individuals outside their home. May invite a small number of trusted visitors, like neighbors, close friends, or family members inside the home. Practices hand-washing and wears masks sometimes. May not always maintain social distancing.
*Both parents and the two older children are fully-vaccinated

Hopes:
Ultimately, the family is seeking a professional long-term nanny who is nurturing, proactive and dependable. While not required, it would be great if the candidate has specific infant experience and experience working as a nanny. The ideal candidate would be active, engaging and encourage learning through play. Someone who is capable of adapting and anticipating a day with children of multiple ages. The family requires a 1 year commitment, but hopes to find a good fit for the next 2-3 years.
