The General Laborer will travel to the assigned work site and perform a wide variety of manual tasks that may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Use hand held tools like shovels, jackhammers, tape measures, hammers, etc.
- Dig trenches with a shovel
- Jack hammer asphalt/concrete
- Carry a wide variety of materials and tools
- Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment or adjustment of materials or equipment.
- Assist the Supervisor with setting up grade stakes when necessary.
- Assist pipe or paving crews when necessary.
- Install and maintains erosion and sedimentation controls.
- Sets inlet, manhole, and water boxes to grade.
- May use a GPS Rover for various layout tasks.
- Help to maintain a clean job site by picking up all tools and equipment to secure the job site each day.
- When qualified, may operate a roller, skid loader, and/or an articulating or off road dump truck.
- Adhere to Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Responsible for own daily transportation to and from the job site.
Education and Experience:
- No formal education is required
- Previous experience doing outdoor labor work is preferred but not required; tasks can be learned on the job in a relatively short period of time
