Job description

Summary: Under direct supervision, the General Laborer assists in the production process by loading and unloading material from machines, conveyors, and mobile equipment; supplying or holding materials or tools; placing material in equipment or on work surfaces for further processing, inspecting, or wrapping; as well as stacking and banding material or products.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Assists by loading and unloading material from machines, conveyors, etc.

· Assists in the placement of products on equipment or work surfaces, supplying or holding materials or tools.

· Wraps, stacks and bands material or products.

· Builds or assembles crates.

· Actively participates in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.

· Perform housekeeping, 5-S, and other duties as assigned.

· Perform physical duties that are associated with the operation of equipment.

· Follow direction of the Area Supervisor with regards to daily production and activities to complete the job.

· Perform daily preventive maintenance on equipment as required.

· Always follow the dress code and compliance of proper PPE.

· Work independently in the absence of direct supervision.

Required Qualifications:

· High school diploma or GED

· 1+ year experience in a manufacturing environment

· Must have good communication and interpersonal skills and be able to appropriately supervise other employees.

· Must be able to appropriately work with and otherwise interact with other company associates, customers, vendors, and the public.

· Problem solving skills

· Reading and writing skills

· Basic math skills

· Willing to work overtime and weekends when necessary

Quantitative Scope:

· No budget responsibility

· No direct/indirect reports
