Job Description

Our client, a leading produce company, is looking for a General Manager with solid Operations experience. Specifically, we are seeking an individual who is able to handle the following responsibilities:

1) Review financial performance reports for current investments

2) Make recommendations where performance targets are not met or could be improved and communicate risks

3) Review and determine whether adequate insurance are in place to cover all reasonable risks

4) Manage and evaluate stock portfolios, money managers, private equity and private placements

5) Maximize return on financial assets of all asset classes

6) Oversee all farm activities and water management

7) Oversee and evaluate farm managers

8) Evaluate and select pistachio processors

9) Oversee harvesting and processing

10) Strategize and plan the most effective way to achieve each farms water needs at the lowest cost

11) Review and determine whether crop insurance and other insurance is needed or adequate

12) Develop, manage, analyze reports and act on them accordingly

13) Update the CEO about important information, your analysis, actions and suggestions

14) Meet with CEO to review important accounts, other information and strategize on best way or approach to achieve company’s various objectives

15) Design and implement new reports or tasks, if needed

16) Improve functions and identify opportunities to improve the bottom line

17) Manage internal and outsourced staff, hire, fire, discipline and remote

18) Determine what reports and tasks are needed, design, setup procedure and implement

19) Manage existing and future real estate projects

20) Perform other duties as assigned

Critical Requirements

1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the produce industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in operations management

Compensation and Other Details

Base Salary: Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
