Must Haves:

• 5+ years of experience in GIS/CAD design and drafting.
• Experience utilizing ArcGIS to document network and utility systems.
• Understanding generating, formatting, and interpretation of technical drawings using AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of Microsoft office, database query, and programming tools to understand and automate the exchange of data.

Plusses:

• IT Project Management experience
• Planning, implementation, and administration of geodatabases using ArcGIS or similar applications.
• Experience with exchanging in design and construction data.
• Experience planning, generating, and organizing Building Information Modeling applications such as AutoCAD.

Day to Day:

Insight Global is seeking a GIS Technician to sit in Tolland County, Connecticut. This group supports the infrastructure of network and telecommunication. This is open because they need someone to fully support the day-to-day operations of the current environment and be proficient with documentation though ArcGIS. Day to day he/she will be looking & learning about existing documents using the technologies of CAD/GIS applications. Once he/she has a full understanding they will be developing new methods and procedures to maintain and upgrade documentation. They are also going to be meeting with internal and external employees to document proper network systems. The ideal end goal is to create an automated dashboard that is user friendly for internal or external employees.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
