Overview
The City of Tigard seeks a GIS Analyst II with advanced GIS analytical and program development skills. We seek an employee who is able to apply their GIS knowledge in varying and challenging topics and do so in a self-motivated manner. Our new employee will be able to use their excellent communication skills and work well with others in team settings, and also apply their exceptional ingenuity and documentation skills to bring about solutions.
The GIS Analyst II works on complex geospatial centric projects and programs involving highly skilled technical work in GIS (geographic information systems) applications, databases, and techniques. GIS Analysts II have in-depth experience and skills in GIS science, problem definition, requirements definition, development of solutions, GIS centric programming /scripting, and communication skills. GIS Analysts II apply their knowledge of the specialized subject matter in geospatial science using standardized methodologies and work with people from different disciplines in developing creative solutions.

Examples of Duties
- Developing a geospatial solution(s) and focused program of equity mapping and analysis to directly support citywide equity program/goals
- Developing a program to support citywide AVL and analytics using ESRI Geoevent server
- Developing tools/procedures to consistently measure and track GIS based city strategic plan goals
- Developing a localized pedestrian network to aid in measuring, tracking, and monitoring the city pedestrian goals and strategies including decision support
- Developing solutions in support of resiliency/sustainability initiatives involving a geospatial element
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of training and experience which would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in geographic information systems, geography, computer science, or a related field AND
- Two (2) years of professional experience in designing, programming, supporting, and implementing GIS applications.

Schedule: The position works a four ten hour shift -Monday through Thursday and is a combination of both onsite and remote work.

Compensation:
The hourly range for this overtime eligible position is $30.88- $41.39 per hour. The starting pay assignment, based on an analysis of the successful candidate’s related experience and education in accordance with the City’s pay equity policy and the Oregon Equal Pay Act, would be no higher than $37.54 per hour.

Covid-19 Vaccination Requirement: The City of Tigard has a COVID-19 vaccination mandate that has been suspended. The suspension will be reviewed quarterly beginning December 31, 2022, or as conditions warrant. If reinstated, the vaccination mandate would require most City employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If hired, and if the mandate is reinstated, you would be required to submit proof of vaccination.
