Job Description Summary

Support Lamb Weston’s global variety development program for all global regions of operations by managing the importation of new potato varieties into targeted global markets as directed. The Global Seed Coordinator must be comfortable working across time zones and with import/export laboratories across the globe. Additionally, this role is responsible to develop a seed tracking and reporting system to properly license seed growers, capture inventory and quality parameters, and report quantities per generation to vendors and LW leadership. The Global Seed Coordinator will support the global development variety program and all of Lamb Weston’s global territories. The right individual will be detail focused and a self-starter with high organizational efficiency.
Job Description
Primary Accountabilities
  • Coordinate with export and import laboratories and breeders to manage the efficient transfer of potato varieties into countries as directed.
  • Maintain global inventory of variety transfers and regulatory status.
  • Develop and manage a global seed inventory system for import/export tracking, reporting, and forecasting Lamb Weston controlled seed.
  • Manage legal licensing agreements and system for all global variety sublicenses.
  • Evaluate viability of advanced seed production technology/approaches for potential implementation by Lamb Weston global locations.
  • All other assignments and responsibilities as directed by the Director of Global Variety Development.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
To successfully perform this job, this individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • 5 - 8 years combined experience in applied field potato research and commercial potato production.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
  • Experience with potato processing operations (Preferred.)
  • Familiarity with plant variety protection is a plus.
  • Experience with and ability to work with local and foreign government regulatory agencies for the import/export, registration, and protection of plant varieties and plant parts.
  • Experience in the seed potato industry and ability to effectively engage seed potato growers, breeders, and business owners.
  • Familiar with creating and managing inventory summaries and databases. Ability to summarize complex datasheets for official reporting.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range posted based on various factors, including, but not limited to, job duties, experience and expertise. A candidate’s work location could also impact the actual compensation being outside of the range to reflect local cost of labor. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $57,380.00 - $86,080.00
