Pay Range: $15.00 to $25.00 per hour

ALL FULL TIME POSITIONS:

Your salary also includes Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance. The Biweekly deduction from employee paycheck is $40.00 for Employee Only, $95.00 Employee plus Children, $120.00 Employee plus Spouse, $140.00 Employee plus family.

FUNCTIONS STATEMENT:

• Paint walls, equipment, buildings, bridges, and other structural surfaces, using brushes, rollers, and spray guns. May remove old paint to prepare surface prior to painting. May mix colors or oils to obtain desired color or consistency.

MAJOR DUTIES:

• Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting.
• Fill cracks, holes, or joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives.
• Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces, such as bare wood or metal, for finish coats.
• Apply paint, stain, varnish, enamel, or other finishes to equipment, buildings, bridges, or other structures, using brushes, spray guns, or rollers.
• Calculate amounts of required materials and estimate costs, based on surface measurements or work orders.
• Read work orders or receive instructions from Painter Supervisor and/or Maintenance Manager to determine work requirements.
• Erect scaffolding or swing gates, or set up ladders or lifts to work above ground level.
• Remove fixtures such as pictures, door knobs, lamps, or electric switch covers prior to painting.
• Wash and treat surfaces with oil, turpentine, mildew remover, or other preparations, and sand rough spots to ensure that finishes will adhere properly. • Mix and match colors of paint, stain, or varnish with oil or thinning and drying additives to obtain desired colors and consistencies.

FACTOR 2: SUPERVISORY CONTROLS

• Incumbent is under the direct supervision of the Painter Supervisor.
• Supervisor assigns work on information regarding the objectives, priorities and deadlines.
• Incumbent handles all work independently according to established policies and accepted practices in the painting, trades and crafts industries. • Incumbent may also independently plan and carry out the projects and select the approaches and methods to be used in solving certain problems.
• Completed projects are reviewed to determine that objectives have been met and are in compliance with higher authority, policies and regulations.

FACTOR 3: GUIDELINES

• Incumbent applies prescribed industrial trades and crafts standards and specifications as amended, employer standard operating procedures, in addition to handbook, policies and precedents.
• Guidelines include Citizen Potawatomi Nation regulations and directives, manufacturer's catalogs, handbooks, precedents, and files of previous projects.
• The incumbent implements adaptations in dealing with problems and unusual situations always with the best interests of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation and Grand Casino Hotel & Resort in mind.

FACTOR 4: COMPLEXITY

• As the level of difficulty increases, the incumbent considers differences in the courses of action and refines methods or develops new techniques, concepts, theories, or programs, to solve problems.
• The level of complexity will vary from mild to extremely intensive and complex circumstances on a routine basis.
• The incumbent is often required to depart from past approaches and to extend traditional techniques or develop new ones to meet major objectives and projects without compromising the integrity of the finished work product.

FACTOR 5: SCOPE AND EFFECT

• The purpose of the work is to provide technical expertise in the design, maintenance and safety of the physical surroundings, grounds and equipment related to Grand Casino Hotel & Resort.
• This work affects the quality of the landscaping, mechanical and automated systems within and throughout the property.

FACTOR 6: PERSONAL CONTACTS

• The range of contacts include ordinary citizens who come to enjoy the amenities offered by the property, to international dignitaries in addition to those dignitaries who represent the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, National Indian Gaming Commission, Federal and State Government and other Native American Tribes.

• The purpose of the contacts is to provide and exchange information and data. The contacts may include dealing with people who are angry, skeptical, uncooperative, unreceptive, or hostile.

FACTOR 8: PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• The position requires daily climbing, lifting, stooping and reaching with agility and dexterity required. • Arm-Hand Steadiness — the ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position. • Gross Body Equilibrium — the ability to keep or regain your body balance or stay upright when in an unstable position.

FACTOR 9: WORK ENVIRONMENT

• The physical surroundings includes an inside climate controlled setting to extreme outside weather consisting of hot and dry to cold and wet conditions
