Facility Monitors are expected to oversee athletic facilities, including participants and equipment, as well as assist with sports classes. To ensure that emphasis in Y sports programs is always on participation, inclusion, fun, and fair play. Our facility monitors will exhibit a positive and helping attitude, promote exercise and health, and instill values that will lead to a positive experience in sports. They are responsible for ensuring the gymnasium is safe and clean during the hours of operation. Our Facility monitors build relationships with our members to ensure equitable gym usage for all.

JOB DUTIES

• Monitors the gym, including participants and equipment.
• Builds effective, authentic relationships with program participants and parents; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA. Encourage parent involvement and identifies potential volunteers.
• Conveys information on sports programs and schedules, and as appropriate refers program participants and parents to other programs.
• Maintains records as required (i.e. equipment, etc.).
• Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
• Build relationships with the teen population.
• Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
• Organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damaged equipment.
• Willingness to accept responsibilities and duties other than those assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum age of 18.
• Experience in sports preferred.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
  Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with YMCA staff, employees, members, and program participants.
• Ability to follow COVID-19 procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
