About The Role
The Head of IT is accountable for developing and realizing the vision for corporate technology at Coalition. You will guide a team passionate about enabling Coalition employees with excellent technology. You work through those on your team – coaching and growing a diverse team while jumping into the details when you need to. You partner with leaders across the company to identify and deploy scalable, secure, and cost-efficient IT solutions.
Responsibilities
- Drive an inclusive team. Assist the individuals on it and help them identify growth opportunities.
- Identify our business and internal customers. Bring your expertise to find a solution to business problems and delight employees.
- Partner with leaders in operational units like finance, human resources, and customer success. Identify their roadmaps and deliver solutions to accelerate their impact.
- Hold high standards for security and operational excellence. Bring modern operations practices to all facets of our business.
- Help desk. Define standards for customer service and oversee implementation.
- Develop IT strategy for Coalition's IT infrastructure. This includes defining the IT Architecture and developing a roadmap in partnership with internal stakeholders from across all areas of the business.
- IT Engineering. Oversee IT Technology selection, implementation, and operation. Develop and enforce operational standards that drive to reliable, secure, and scalable IT.
- Drive IT Security as a first-class citizen across both SaaS and self-hosted applications.
- Guide the IT budget to ensure Coalition's money is spent wisely.
- Team Management: Hiring, Growth, Performance Management.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree - related technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Cross-functional IT team management on multiple concurrent projects and on multiple teams.
- Performance management including one-on-ones, performance reviews, improvement plans and other processes for helping teams do their greatest work.
- Working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders on projects with intricate business logic.
- Development and implementation of hiring and growth plans.
- Project planning and coordination with multiple stakeholders.
- Knowledge of engineering and quality metrics.
- 5+ years of IT management experience - It's not the years that count, it's what you do with them.
Bonus Points
- Experience in guiding remote and distributed teams.
- Experience with IT at a "hyper-scaling" company.
- Guiding teams across multiple types of approaches (engineering, help desk, etc.).
- Experience guiding other managers.
