HOERBIGER Corporation of America (HCA) is seeking a leader for the People and Culture function at our manufacturing facility in Pompano Beach, FL. HCA is an industry-leading manufacturer of precision compressor valves and components ($125m Production Plant), with 300 employees.

The Head of People and Culture (P&C) will provide expert technical advice, drive organizational change and influence others to ensure effective people solutions while serving as a trusted Business Partner to the management team. An essential member of the senior management team, the role will be charged with translation of business strategies, derived from mid- and long-range planning, into P&C actions.

The Head of P&C is responsible to ensure the success of global company P&C processes such as Performance Management, Succession Planning, Learning Management, and Recruiting standards within the business unit.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fully engage with and utilize established human resources processes for development, career planning, succession planning, performance management and recruiting. Lead meaningful goal setting, appropriate rating factors consistent with organizational success, and achieve deadlines
  • Derive P&C activities from mid- and long-range planning to assure achievement of financial targets. Actively participate on the Senior Leadership team and delivery of effective Human Resource strategy and solutions, contribute to and drive decisions and share responsibility for business results
  • Demonstrate Change Management capabilities through documented change actions or projects prepared, implemented, and sustained over time
  • Ownership of recruiting process to ensure hiring for talent rather than for pure position filling Create programs to influence and reward personnel which attract, engage and retain talent
  • Work with managers to swiftly resolve individual performance/capability issues using HR appropriate tools
  • Promote and drive the Employee Opinion Survey process and derive measures from the results that support continuous improvement.
  • Work with managers to develop learning and talent development plans that close key gaps for their business area
  • Scan the market for emerging trends, innovations, and current HR best practices. Stay up to date on all HR legal changes

Requirements
  • Masters/Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management major or equivalent
  • Substantial experience (10+ years) working as an HR Manager in a complex, matrix organization, including 5+ years leading the Human Resources Department of a Manufacturing Plant in a Matrix environment.
  • Strong technical skills across the full range of HR activities including:

    • Leadership development
    • Expert knowledge of Federal and State laws
    • Designing and delivering HR data/metrics
    • Strong influencing & negotiating skills
    • Compliance with Corporate policies, procedures, and rules of conduct
    • Demonstrated leadership capability within a team and across functions
    • Sound understanding of P&L and Budgeting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data and make confident decisions using sound judgement
  • Excellent computer skills including: advanced level skills with Microsoft Office Suite; proficient with SAP, Success Factors; experience with ADP Workforce Now; experience with administration of Learning Management Systems
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, presentation skills
  • Ability to travel (international) for company meetings/training
  • PHR, SPHR or SHRM – CP, SCP Certifications are highly preferred
