General Responsibilities:
The Clinical Quality Manager plays a key role in managing and supporting performance improvement activities as a member of the Health Informatics Department, working with department representatives across the organization on initiatives to ensure the quality of patient care through performance measurement, and continuous quality improvement activities. This position participates as part of the Health Informatics team in the development and dissemination of quality measurement, clinical quality analysis plans and the communication of the strategies to improve the adherence to clinical quality measures.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science and or relevant degree
  • Two or more years of experience in the implementation of Quality Improvement initiatives
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and/or demonstrated ability to design relevant workflows for successful use of the application in clinical practice
  • Experience with quality improvement models and tools a plus
  • Professional appearance and excellent work attitude
  • Excellent time management
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Experience with the use of Microsoft Office software applications to manage patient data and create presentations
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle for daily visits to program sites
  • Participation in Team activities related to National Health Disparity Collaborative or state based Collaborative a plus

Physical Effort/Environment:
While certain accommodations can be made, position requires some physical exertion and dexterity in using computer applications and equipment. Transportation is needed to external agency and internal care settings.

Work Schedule Demands:
Full or part-time salaried position as determined by CEO. Some evening and weekend responsibilities as assigned.

Communication Skills:
Exceptional oral and written skills needed and ability to develop and deliver public presentations.

Confidentiality of Information:
Full access to patient records, clinical reports and data, as necessary to perform assigned duties. Position requires review and preparation of certain confidential information.

Significant Job Functions:
  • Participate in the development of performance improvement plans, including strategies to evaluate the outcomes that promote the delivery of effective patient care and improved clinical performance.
  • Facilitate organizational success on Pay for Performance Initiatives as a member of the Health Informatics team through testing, monitoring and evaluating progress on process and outcomes measures.
  • Monitor and evaluate timely and effective use of the EHR as a member of the Health Informatics team to maintain the accurate and effective use of the record to track and report on indicators as defined.
  • Participate in Nursing Director meetings, collaboratively with the Manager of Clinical Compliance and Risk; providing guidance and support in maintaining adherence with state and federal regulatory guidelines.
  • Consult with Team Leaders within Thundermist Sites and Departments in collaboration with the Manager of Clinical Compliance & Risk on the design of intervention strategies to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Supervise the Administrative Medical Assistants.
  • Serve as contact for P4P or Health Disparities Collaborative communications, including submission of required reports and conference calls as assigned by the AVP of QI & Health Informatics. Consult in the development of plans for staff training and conduct staff training as appropriate and necessary, including collaborations with Human Resources as well as training on effective and efficient use of the EHR.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with all health center personnel.
