Health Promotion Specialist/Mental Health First Aid Instructor
Job description
We are currently seeking a full time Health Promotion Specialist/Mental Health First Aid Instructor to support a high profile client located in McDonough, GA.
Job Overview:
As a Health Promotion Specialist, you will be the face of Workplace Well-being to the client and their employees. Your strength lies in your ability to motivate and engage members in their journey toward better health. You will help the client build and enhance their well-being culture, deliver engaging health promotion activities, and increase employee health ownership. You will also use data and population feedback to identify opportunities for driving lifestyle and behavior change through increased population engagement.
As a Mental Health First Aid Instructor you will be responsible for managing the administrative tasks and communication strategy, capturing, and promoting client specific resources (such as EAP) teaching the MHFA course, and capturing and sharing reports and metrics. Your focus will be on managing the implementation of a training for the clients, inclusive of assigning and collaborating with a co-instructor, course delivery, and client support.
What we are looking for:
Health Promotion:
- Assesses population health needs using audit tools, feedback from employees, and the client to develop and deploy appropriate well-being solutions and programming.
- Coordinates, develops, and delivers a range of health interventions to educate members on well-being, including an annual calendar of health improvement activities.
- Partners with the client, vendors, and community resources to execute on a workplace well-being strategy that will result in improving the health and resiliency of the employee population.
- Ensures familiarity with integrated products, programs and services in order to connect the employee population to their next best action.
- Builds, leads, and expands the client’s national network of Wellness Champions to localize & expand programming to other locations and departments.
- Coordinates health and well-being marketing and communications relating to the workplace’s physical and virtual spaces to promote healthy behaviors and health care engagement.
- Reports on engagement, referrals, workplace well-being initiatives, and results to demonstrate improvement in baseline metrics.
Mental Health First Aid Instructor:
- Organizes and conducts Mental Health First Aid training with event planning, instruction, and corresponding reporting as needed.
- Manages co-instructors allocation and support.
- Supports the administrative responsibilities of conducting the course, which includes adding participants into the MHFA Connect portal, assigning them to respective courses, and ensuring their pre-work is complete prior to the course date.
- Collaborates with client on communication strategy for supporting participants in their pre and post work requirements.
- Ensures familiarity with integrated products, programs and services in order to connect the employee population to their next best action.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., health promotion, health education, public health or related health emphasis).
- Three or more years of experience in health promotion, health management, human resources/organizational behavior or a related field
- Excellent multi-tasking, time management, problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Strong technical and regulatory knowledge.
- Effective and engaging public speaking skills with the ability to communicate professionally and appropriately with clients and participants.
- Competent with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Health plan experience.

Pay is based on several factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, certifications, geographic differentials, and other business and organizational needs.
