Healthcare Project Manager for the State of Indiana

Location: Indianapolis IN 46204

Dept: IDOH

Duration: 12+ Months

  • This position is responsible for overseeing the Nursing Home & Long Term Care Strike Team and Infrastructure Project/Grant received from the CDC.
  • This $15 million grant will be dispersed through multiple initiatives to support long-term care facilities with addressing COVID-19 and other infectious diseases.
  • The project manager is also responsible for implementing and managing the solicitation, administration and compliance of contracts to subrecipients.
  • Additional responsibilities include coordination with IDOH Finance Division, LTC Division, and external partners as necessary.

Essential Duties

  • Develops and manages both large and small scale projects.
  • Prioritizes projects and address immediate technical needs as they arise.
  • Develops communication plan for projects and funding opportunities
  • Develops applications for subrecipient funding in consultation with agency staff and in alignment with agency objectives.
  • Develops resources and materials for potential recipients on types of grants available, federal and agency requirements for obtaining grants and process of applying for grants.
  • Reviews requests for fulfillment of project objectives and federal and agency requirements.
  • Assists potential recipients in the grant application process making recommendations on possible changes if needed and frequently reviewing grant applications.
  • Makes recommendations to management and granting authority on potential redirect of funding.
  • Monitors grant budget including planned budget and expenditures in coordination with IDOH Finance Division.
  • Analyzes and evaluates contract and grant budgets.
  • Facilitates development and preparation of request for contract packets to include budgets, scope of work documentation, and funding requirements.
  • Coordinates receipt of awards and contract documentation.
  • Recommends approval or denial of deviations to contract or budget.
  • Assists in arbitration and resolution of contract disputes.
  • Coordinates with agency staff on planning issues and required data submission/reporting to meet grant requirements.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or five years of experience in grants and project management preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written, listening and problem-solving skills; excellent project management skills;
  • understanding of state and federal awards; ability to create collaborative relationships;
  • effective judgement and creative leadership ability;
  • strong accounting and grants management skills; ability to navigate complex, technical decision making involving multiple stakeholders; computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; self-motivated and enthusiastic.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
