High School Business Technology Teacher
Job description
Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School is a state-wide, public (tuition-free) K-12 cyber charter school with a substantial number of students. Our teachers are part of an educational team whose innovative approach to education is providing a dynamic learning experience for students across the state of Pennsylvania through cyber education. All teachers report to work throughout our various locations in Pennsylvania.

Essential Duties:
Strong familiarity with and knowledge of the PA Academic Standards
Develop engaging online learning content
Demonstrate use of media and techniques live and in video recordings
Record original instructional videos and content for tech courses
Assess and provide timely feedback on student work
Interact with students and families through course or school-related sharing of information
Deliver whole-group and small group instruction during live, synchronous virtual class sessions
Hold office hours daily
Contribute to IEP input for special education students and attend IEP meetings
Perform other miscellaneous professional responsibilities as assigned by the Principal, Assistant Principal, Department Chair, Supervisor of Curriculum, and Data Specialist
Proctor standardized testing. Limited overnight travel may be required during the testing period (1-2 times per academic year)
Collaborate with colleagues in Professional Learning Communities
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
PA Instructional I Business Comp-Info-Tech PK-12
PA Instructional II Business Comp-Info-Tech PK-12 (recommended)
Additional consideration given for continuing education, industry recognized credentials and/or certification and/or endorsement
Current (dated within a year) Act 34, 114, and 151 clearances
The ability to integrate technology into the curriculum and instruction
Must have excellent technical, interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to follow established policies and procedures
Passion for utilizing educational technologies as a tool to increase student learning
Embrace opportunities to adapt and problem solve in a unique educational environment
Enthusiasm for taking on a leadership role within our school community
Able to collaborate effectively with other team members
Excellent team player, including reliability in working independently
Proficient technology skills: Microsoft Office, email, Google Drive, web-based data programs.
Not required, but a plus: Comfortable working with Canvas, Zoom, LinkIt, Newsela, Naviance or other educational technology resources
Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands:
Physical: Normal vision, speech, hearing, walking, sitting, standing, lifting, stooping, bending, grasping, keyboarding, and filing ability. This position will require the instructor to report onsite for a minimum of two days per week.
Mental: Positive attitude, analyzing, problem-solving, decision-making, and communicating.
Environmental: Online, office, blended school environment
