Ensures safety of patients, visitors, and staff by conducting initial screenings at hospital entrance. Assesses patients and visitors by ensuring compliance to hospital protocols. Provides directional support within the facility as needed. Promotes Intermountain Health mission, vision and demonstrates values and outstanding customer service behavior standards. Promotes effective working relationships and works effectively as part of a department/unit team and interdepartmentally to facilitate that department’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.Posting Specifics

Scope
Provides support to the operations of Central Transport by transporting patients and equipment (beds, wheelchairs) to various treatment areas throughout hospital in a safe and efficient manner. May assist in transfer process of patient from bed to mode of transportation.
Collaborates with leaders to evaluate and address service needs and volumes and adjusts work assignments accordingly to ensure safe and quality patient care.
Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures in compliance with federal and state regulations and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations requirements.
Provides support to the operations of Materials Management by ensuring adequate inventory and replenishment of supply levels, including exchange and par carts to support daily activities for nursing and ancillary departments.
Monitors, rotates, removes, and documents all outdated and overstocked supplies and checks for damage to items.
Enters supply replenished par level forms, including par, Pyxis inventory, or exchange carts to support daily activities for nursing and ancillary departments.
Verifies inventory and control levels for all nursing and schedules ancillary departments.
Stocks and picks needed supplies for delivery to nursing and ancillary departments.
Provides support to CD supply program and inventory through customer service, guest relations and teamwork.
Ensures complete and accurate patient, department and equipment asset information is recorded for processing daily changes and issues/ credits.
Minimum Qualifications
Required: BLS within 90 days of hire is required. (Transport)
Ability to work nights and/or weekends required for identified positions
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Previous experience in customer service
Previous experience in hospital or health care environment
Demonstrated experience in working with computer applications and systems.
Demonstrated basic knowledge of medical terminology and equipment associated with the role (wheelchairs, etc.).

- Standing: Up to 8 - 10 hours per day.
- Walking: Up to 10 min at one time; and 1 hour per day
- Sitting: Up to 8 - 10 hours per day.
- Stooping: reaching/bending Up to 1 minute at one time and 1 hour per day.
- Squatting: Up to 1 minute at one time and 1 hour per day.
- Kneeling: Up to 1 minute at one time and 1 hour per day.
- Climbing: Up to 1 minutes at one time and 3 minutes per day.
- Fine Motor skills for computer and equipment use to complete procedures and tasks.
- Gross hand grasp and coupling: High level required for manual tasks as noted above.
- Cognition: Ability to think, reason, perceive, understand, retain memory, and has awareness.
- Balancing: Bodily equilibrium to deliver patient healthcare.
- Walking surface: Tile/carpet, cement/asphalt: mix of surfaces throughout shift.
- Visual acuity: 20/40. Far vision and near vision in at least one eye as well as functional peripheral vision and depth perception.
- Talking: Must utilize clear conversational speech for effective verbal communication with patients and staff.
- Hearing: High level acuity to both communicate with patients and staff; and respond to alarms.
- Running: Rare, such as: rapid response team, codes, etc.
