We are looking for a highly experienced Sales Manager for Clarion Pointe hotel in the Wake Forest, NC area and Red Roof Inn hotel in the Durham - Chapel Hill, NC area.

Goal: To ensure continuing long-term revenue maximization and profitability while adhering to the pricing and market philosophy of continuous improvement of quality and service; protection of the owner's asset, including physical structure, financial stability, reputation and integrity.

Responsibilities: The Sales Manager will develop a sales plan to maximize revenue at each hotel property he/she represents by driving occupancy and ADR through the sale of guest rooms, group blocks and meetings/events, in addition to total room sales for each property he or she represents. The Sales Manager will work together with each of the hotel leadership teams to ensure proper saturation of current accounts including direct bill accounts, groups and meetings/events.

Tasks (not a comprehensive list):

  • Implement and direct the internal sales activities
  • Work with the General Manager to control dates, availability and rates on guest rooms, function space & food/beverage
  • Act as a liaison between the client and the hotel team
  • Respond to all incoming leads at the hotel and directed by the General Manager.
  • Provide pricing and negotiate, as needed to win the business
  • Communicate all client needs/details, changes before the event as appropriate
  • Follow up on meetings/calls to obtain the business
  • Work with the clients to design and send proposals, agreements to address any incoming business to the property such as group & meetings/events by sending them in a timely manner, followed by the appropriate steps to close the business.
  • Work together with the General Manager on any local negotiated rate business to maximize opportunity for the hotel to gain new business and loyalty.
  • Handle all internal "walk-in" clients providing them with an on-site consultation of their needs in addition to a site tour, followed by a proposal or contract being sent for review.
  • Work closely with the General Manager and hotel staff to promote the hotel property
  • Share the front desk lead initiative with all front desk staff ensuring the team is in full understanding of the process
  • Record all accounts, contacts, leads, new business and contracts
  • Develop strong partnerships with existing and new clients in order to produce group/corporate business to include room sales, meeting and events and food & beverage needs
  • Focus on the internal sales at the hotel property's to include: actively seeking new business from the guests/clients who are currently staying at the hotel by:
  • Sending thank you notes
  • Phone calls
  • Providing welcome in-room gifts for new guests/clients/companies
  • Research new companies, developments and market trends
  • Review all groups in inventory and follow-up with clients on groups booked.
  • Communicate with the front desk department in regard to new groups, changes and requirements
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, community and Chamber of Commerce in order to produce room sales, meeting room sales, food and beverage sales and/or banquet sales
  • Perform any other duties/responsibilities as assigned by General Manager
  • Provide support to fellow departments as requested by Hotel Leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Hotel Management: 2 years (Preferred)
  • US Work Authorization (Preferred)
  • Hotel Sales experience is mandatory
  • College degree preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • High energy
  • Professional image, communicated through demeanor, dress and communication

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $38,000.00 per year
