The Division of Student Life at Creighton University is currently recruiting to hire a Housing Assignments Coordinator.


Responsible for the housing assignments and lottery process of approximately 2,500 on campus bed spaces in 6 residence halls and 2 apartment complexes. Collect applications and deposits for incoming students. Maintain records and assist with current student concerns. Provides administrative support and works in close collaboration with the Associate Director of Housing and Auxiliary Services. Will have own office and high interaction and collaboration with other staff, parents, and students.


This position is full-time, Monday through Friday day hours and will work in-person on campus. Pay range is hourly and will depend on background, skills, and experience.


  • Housing Assignment Management: track and assign housing to all incoming and current residential student applicants, as well as assist with various Housing Portal processes each academic year. This position also oversees the wait list of students not yet assigned to their preferred housing and communicates out updates regularly. They update housing assignments as needed for room changes and oversee the utilization of Emergency Use spaces on campus as well.
  • Interpret departmental and university policies to advise students, parents, + campus partners on the housing application process and availability. They’ll serve as the main point of contact for student issues regarding housing assignments and work with them/parents to find a reasonable resolution. They’ll also serve as the initial contact for Housing Exemption requests and will advise students of proper paperwork to complete for various Housing processes.
  • Assist with room rate charges and appropriate billing cycles. They will also process refunds for students who have resigned or withdrawn from the university, and are responsible for maintaining accurate statements by adjusting bills appropriately for housing moves and transfers.
  • Assist with the development and distribution of statistical housing reports for internal and external consumption, as well as create various Dashboard Reports in StarRez to collect live data of on-going processes.
  • Maintain regular communication with campus partners involved in admitting new students (Admissions Office, Business Office, Global Engagement, etc.). They’ll also work with the Office of Disability Services to establish viable housing accommodations for inquiring students and will assist with various Division of Student Life efforts to create a positive on-campus experience for residential students.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1+ years of experience, working in a Higher Education system, Housing department, Property Management, or similar professions preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and Excel necessary, knowledge of Banner and StarRez Housing system a plus
  • Knowledge of Residence Life programs helpful
  • Interpersonal/human relations skills necessary
