Southern Adirondack Independent Living (SAIL) is seeking interested, qualified individuals within the organization who are interested in applying for the full-time Rapid Transitional Housing Program, Housing Specialist position.

The Housing Specialist is responsible to assist The New York Association on Independent Living (NYAIL) with the implementation and delivery of the Rapid Transition Housing Program. The Rapid Transition Housing Program (RTHP) provides a rental subsidy and supportive housing services for high-need Medicaid beneficiaries. The Housing Specialist is responsible to provide education and assistance to individuals and businesses with regard to housing services, and to provide training and education on affordable, accessible, and integrated housing options.

This position requires at least an AAS, with BA preferred and five (5) years of related experience or other comparable education and experience. The right candidate will be proficient in, and embody the following qualities; verbal and written aptitude; computer programs proficiency; organizational and problem solving skills; vibrant, positive personality; and experience in goal setting for individuals with disabilities and/or low income families. The right candidate will have knowledge on local housing options and/or housing transition experience.

Due to the nature of this position, work hours may vary based on the needs of the agency and outreach events. Occasional weekend and evening availability may be required.

Location: Queensbury NY

Full-time, hourly position; 37.5 hours per week (M-F 8am-4pm)

Compensation package: Commensurate with experience, as well as health insurance, retirement plan, 14 paid holidays, and generous benefit time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
