As an HPC and Server Operations Manager, you will plan, direct, and coordinate the operational and tactical activities of individuals responsible for the delivery of information processing and telecommunications services; establish objectives and plans for the team’s operations; identify and assemble the optimal combination of personnel, technologies, and methodologies to meet current and near-term requirements; translate organizational objectives into work plans; creates contingency plans to meet changes in business circumstances.  Participate in operational meetings.

DAY-TO-DAY ACTIVITES/TASKS INCLUDE:

• Manage the ETS personnel on the team, currently 50 staff members, who provide high performance computing, Windows/Linux server computing, application development and dev ops practices. This includes creating yearly goals, including professional development, for all staff members and having monthly tag ups with each staff member
• Plan, direct, and coordinate the operational and tactical activities of individuals responsible for the delivery of information processing and telecommunications services
• Establish objectives and plans for the team’s operations; identifies and assembles the optimal combination of personnel, technologies, and methodologies to meet current and near-term requirements; translates organizational objectives into work plans; creates contingency plans to meet changes in business circumstances
• Participate in operational meetings with the customers.
• Verify timesheet logging on a weekly basis
• Hold regular meetings with the customers to review recruiting metrics, staff performance and operational metrics
• Work closely with recruiters and conduct technical interviews to retain staffing levels
• Create and facilitate communities of practice

Required Skills:

• Must possess BS/BA and 2 years of related experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Clearance
• Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Must have excellent leadership and organizational skills with a proven track record of managing multiple IT teams and projects supporting a variety of areas which include Windows and/or Linux servers, High Performance Computing (HPC) environment, Application Development, Dev Ops, and Scrum/Agile methodologies.
• Must have outstanding communication skills and an aptitude for problem solving and will play a significant role in long-term planning, project status reporting, and implementing change control processes.
• Must stay up to date on industry regulations, trends, and technology and will work closely with management team to ensure all operational, administrative, and compliance functions are being properly executed.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
