HR and Benefits Coordinator

The HR and Benefits Coordinator will report to the Senior HR Operations Manager and will primarily be responsible for assisting with HR and teammate health and welfare benefits. This is a great opportunity to become part of a dynamic team committed to partnering with our teammates in all aspects of their day-to-day HR and benefits needs. In this role, you will have the ability to work remotely. Our corporate office is located in White Plains, NY.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with day-to-day benefit and leave programs (group health, dental, vision, FSA, STD, LTD, life insurance, voluntary benefits, workers compensation and 401k retirement plan)
  • Educate and answer teammate questions related to benefit policies, enrollment, procedures and leave administration
  • Coordinate Leave of Absence (FML, PFL, disability and ADA) requests and liaise with third party vendor on the administration.
  • Establish a solid working relationship with our benefits broker and benefit vendors.
  • Assist with annual enrollment and new hire enrollment presentations.
  • Ensure we are compliant in all leave and benefit state laws.
  • Enter New Hires, Terms, and Changes into our HRIS system (ADP WFN).
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to timecard and login issues, etc.
  • Create and run reports in ADP on a consistent and as needed basis.
  • Research new state and local benefit laws.
  • Review and process monthly benefit invoices from all vendors; ensure timely processing.
  • Provide back-up support to other members of the HR Operations team.
  • Assist with monitoring local regulatory and legal developments to ensure compliance with federal and state labor regulations.
  • Lead special projects throughout the year in support of benefits and leave objectives.
  • Ensure plans are administered according to terms, laws and regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field.
  • 1-2 years of HR and Benefit experience preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of multiple states leave and benefit laws.
  • Knowledge of state and federal labor laws.

SKILLS:

  • Must be detail oriented, resourceful, responsive and be able to function in a fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft products including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teammates and externally with outside vendors.
  • Previous experience using HRIS system (ADP WFN preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and see them through to completion.
  • Ability to problem solve and be resourceful.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
