Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) provides systems engineering, software development, training solutions and complex program management for global security, civil and commercial markets. Simply stated, our mission is to be the world’s leading global security and aerospace company.

The HR Business Partner will support the Sikorsky Future Vertical Lift (FVL) organization in addition to project-level work. The FVL organization has two major components – Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft (FARA; Kiowa Warrior replacement), and Future Long Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA; Black Hawk replacement). Programs are at a Corporate Focus level and have potential Total Program Values of up to $100B. Both programs are currently in the front end/campaign activity (one is waiting on selection!), so this rotation would be exposed to a very high-profile, highly competitive, and highly visible (internally and externally) environment.

The HRBP will support the client groups with their organizational strategy, including leadership in change management, talent identification and movement/succession planning, talent acquisition, diversity/inclusion, performance management, compensation and rewards programs, and a Culture of Accountability.

In addition to HRBP support, this role will also assist with broader project efforts across the Sikorsky Line of Business market segment and pull together data, projects, and best practices to ensure consistent application of processes.

The HRBP supporting FVL will be responsible for helping to develop and implement the Human Capital strategy and initiatives to ensure talent and organizational capability, as well as capacity, are aligned to support the business needs. The HRBP will be expected to help lead the development of innovative Human Capital solutions to address complex business issues, including but not limited to, large-scale change initiatives, business growth, staffing up or down cycles, business integration, talent development, coaching, organizational design, and strategic decision making. He/she must possess very strong business acumen in order to develop and execute the necessary human capital strategies. The HRBP must be capable of assessing talent within the organization and help develop talent management strategies to ensure key talent is placed in key roles and that the organization has the appropriate bench strength. The ideal candidate will exhibit a high level of emotional intelligence, strong communication skills, a strong executive presence, and in the ability to navigate complex situations.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Experience with and strong knowledge of HR Practices, Policies, and Laws
  • Prior HR Business Partner or Center of Excellence (COE) experience
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively build relationships
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills across all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated strong influencing, prioritization, and decision-making/problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build credibility with clients and colleagues
  • Demonstrated ability to handle proprietary and confidential material appropriately
  • Ability to Travel periodically no more than 10%
Desired Skills:
  • Experience supporting executive-level clients
  • Ability to foster change and promote and implement improvement.
  • Partner with HR Center of Excellence counterparts to ensure that the client organizations are fully supported and positioned to successfully execute its HR strategy.
  • Closely collaborate with market segment HRBP counterparts to ensure consistent application of HR initiatives across the enterprise
  • Establish and execute the client HR strategy, exercise thought leadership, exercise good judgment, and make difficult decisions.
  • Use metrics/analytics to drive performance. Champion employee engagement, retention and diversity and inclusion. Be an employee advocate.
  • Experience working in a large matrixed organization.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills. Demonstrate successful management of multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
  • Travel for the position will vary. Other responsibilities may be assigned as required to support the organization.
