Join Our Team! We are seeking an experienced Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) to join our team, covering stores in our Central Florida region. This hands-on role provides the opportunity for you to work on HR-related projects in assigned stores, utilizing your full range of HR expertise such as HR issues, policies, staffing and more. This role supports two District Managers and the related stores in their areas, with daily travel by company car to store locations. The Central Florida area includes parts of Orange, Seminole, Volusia and Flagler Counties . The company headquarters is also located in Orlando with a large cluster of stores in this region. Please note that this is a home-based, travel position where travel comprises 90% of the role.
For this exciting role, we are seeking an HRBP with 2 - 5 years experience, who wants to work in a hands-on, operational HR capacity while contributing to the overall success of our company. It is important that the candidate has experience dealing with sensitive employee issues, and can embrace a fast-paced, changing retail store environment.
Job Purpose and Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates ABC’s Core Values with our guests and team members every day.
  • Ensures HR strategies are implemented at a tactical level in our stores
  • Serves as an ambassador of change, with all new initiatives.
  • Provides day-to-day coaching to leadership on a variety of actions to include employee relations issues, policy interpretation and application; talent management and development.
  • Travels daily in assigned districts to work with our store managers handling employee issues and rolling out HR initiatives.
  • Actively participates in annual budget planning and labor forecasting process with field operations team and HR.
  • Works with Asset Protection to investigate incidents of internal or external theft.
  • Monitors and enforces operational compliance policy to ensure safety among team members and guests.
  • Performs store walk once each quarter at all assigned stores.
  • Speaks to all team members as often as possible. Support monthly district meetings.
  • Assists in recruiting, onboarding and training of new and existing team members.
  • Encourage constant recognition of our team members; lead by example.
  • Meets weekly and monthly with operational field partners; DM and RVP.
  • Leads and/or supports annual HR cycle deliverables to include performance management; merit increases, merit bonus awards.
  • Partners with payroll; HRIS; Benefits; and Risk Management as needed for employee solutions.
  • Partners with Director of HR Field Operations to grow the capacity of organization's key talent for high potential growth development planning.
  • Handles additional special projects and assignments as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
  • Proven foundation and knowledge of principles & practice of HR including employment law & compliance requirements
  • Proven guest management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Proven knowledge of full lifecycle recruiting, onboarding and off-boarding skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to effectively coach employees and management through critical conversations
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to set high personal goals and work independently
  • Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Proven acuity with HRIS and LMS tools
Background Requirements
  • Clean DMV driving record
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business-related field
  • (2) Two to (5) Five years of HR experience with at least two years of experience in both talent acquisition and human resource experience
  • Multi-unit location employee support experience in a retail environment
  • Experience in coaching employees and management through complex and difficult situations
  • Travel within market daily
  • Candidate must be bi-Lingual as this area works with the bi-lingual community of South Florida
