Job Title: HR Compensation Manager
Requirements:
Hours: 8am to 5pm (Salary Exempt)
Type: Direct Hire
Start Date: ASAP
Hourly Pay Rate: Annual Salary Range $65,000 - $90,000
Specialty: Human Resource Compensation
Summary: Manage and administer employee compensation plans while ensuring compliance with local, state and federal guidelines while maintaining its competitiveness in the marketplace. Responsible for playing an integral role in the development, strategy and administration of university equitable pay policies, salary planning, and performance management. Additionally, will serve as an advisor or resource person to Human Resources management and staff in the areas of compensation, performance, salary and role change.

Job Title: HR Compensation Manager
Requirements:
- Experience working Virginia State Agency position/s is a MUST.
- Must currently be working in the compensation industry or recently been working in the HR compensation industry.
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Public or Business Administration, Human Resource Management or a related field or an equivalent combination of training, experience and education that provides the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience.
- Extensive HR knowledge, with expertise in compensation administration.
- At least two years of experience managing a program.
- Experience working in and managing an HRIS program and solid technical skills.
- Data entry experience.
- Ability to lead, plan, organize, prioritize, monitor, and manage employees and a variety of work projects.
- Ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with team members and communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with all levels of internal and external contacts.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)

Duties:
- Research compensation trends, developments, new approaches, tools and legal requirements.
- Assist in designing compensation programs
- Conduct and participate in compensation surveys
- Evaluate jobs to ensure job responsibilities are valued fairly relative to others within the company and the marketplace.
- Promote pay-for-performance by facilitating a merit program that effectively distinguishes between different levels of job performance within budgeted guidelines.
- Ensures compensation actions are administered fairly, consistently, and in a manner that compiles with legal requirements.
- Assist in designing and communicating compensation-related policies, procedures, and systems
- Provide guidelines, technical direction, and advice to the head of the HR department
- Maintain historical records, develops regular and special reports, monitors compensation-related expenditures, and provides forecasts for budgetary and other needs. Oversees the administration and record keeping for compensation plans. Coordinate and prepare relevant documents and reports required by different agencies.
- Coordinate with the payroll department to ensure timely filing and distribution of required documents.
- Analyze existing compensation policies and prevailing practices among similar establishments, to create competitive compensation programs.
- Provide documentation related to Compensation Plan audits, as required.
Other Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in human services for the State in two or more specialties
- Experience working in an educational environment
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential. Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI), PHR, or SPHR.
- Graduate with MBA
- Fundamental knowledge of financial principles
