Aurora Mental Health Center (AuMHC) is seeking a full-time HRIS Specialist. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong communication skills and an attention to detail. We are seeking a quick learner with technical proficiency in business software applications, databases, and human resources information systems who demonstrates a high level of discretion in dealing with highly confidential and sensitive information.
Salary for this role. Starting wage is based on experience and company equity.
- $21.36 - $32.04 per hour
About the role.
Oversee the daily administration of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), including maintaining quality and consistency of HRIS data, developing and delivering standard and ad hoc reports, managing feeds with benefits vendors, ensuring personnel actions are compliant with current HR policies and guidelines, and providing HRIS training and technical support to staff.

Responsibilities:
- Administer and oversee the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). Review entered/keyed data for accuracy. Perform audits on a regular basis to ensure continued data integrity. Manage reporting hierarchy in HRIS to ensure workflow/task approval continuity in system. Make recommendations to improve functionality and optimize effective usage of system.
- Develop and administer standard reports and create ad hoc reports upon request.
- Review and approve all workflow requests and status changes and ensure that appropriate related paperwork and tasks are completed as needed. Tracks terminations and ensures they are entered into the database systems.
- Monitor all HRIS vendor communication re: HRIS changes and enhancements. Update HR team about enhancements that may impact the HRIS system and take lead in developing communication plan for updates and new functionality to all staff as needed. Manage implementation of system improvements and upgrades.
- Respond to HRIS helpdesk requests. Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in development of training curriculum related to the HRIS system. Conduct formal and informal training sessions as needed.
- Manage and maintain employee records and files to ensure adherence to documentation requirements, organization, and confidentiality. Maintain database systems and on-site/off-site hard copy records for employees, interns, and volunteers. Act as main contact to third parties regarding audits and employment record subpoenas.
- Ensure new employee orientation runs smoothly, including ensuring materials are prepared. Review new hire paperwork to ensure completeness and compliance with federal and state laws and company policy. Follow up with new employees/hiring managers as necessary to make sure required forms are completed according to deadlines.
- Ensures the efficiency of day-to-day operations of the HR department. In conjunction with other HR team members, researches, assesses, updates and/or develops, and streamlines departmental administrative processes and creates procedures that support processes.
- Reconciles and tracks monthly records and bills for the HR team.
- Assists with Benefits Open Enrollment and Benefits Fair.
- Develops written material for special programs and projects as requested.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent and three years general human resources experience.
- Previous experience with computerized HRIS system, including managing and auditing for data integrity, security/access management, and problem-solving for challenges with functionality of systems.
- Preferred: Bachelors degree in human resources, business, or related field plus one-year related experience.
- Preferred: SPHR, PHR, SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential.
- Preferred: Previous experience with Paycom HRIS system.
Required Vaccinations.
AuMHC has prioritized the health and safety of our clients and staff and requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 as well as receive an annual influenza (flu) shot prior to their first day of hire.
