Position Overview & Responsibilities:
The HRIS Specialist is responsible for managing employee data and records, analyzing people processes, and recommending technical solutions to create greater efficiency in human resource processes. This position has primary responsibility for administrative and data-entry of new hires, reporting changes and position changes within Christensen Farms HRIS solution. This role also plays an important part in maintaining and developing reports for our people analytics and compliance requirements.
Major Areas of Accountability:

  • HRIS ADMINSTRATION
  • Primary responsibility to verify all personnel data changes meet business rules and have all required approvals prior to entering data into the HRIS system.
  • Responsibility for accurate and timely entry of employee changes, supervisor/position changes and training data into the HRIS system.
  • Ensure that time clock badges are correctly assigned and ordered as necessary.
  • Set up allocations for employees that work at multiple locations.
  • Resolves HR application issues, monitors and troubleshoots various system issues.
  • Ensures data integrity, testing of system changes, report writing and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities.
  • Administers HRIS security roles and permissions for users.

  • Recommends upgrades or enhancements to HR systems such as UKG, ApplicantPro or other HR systems
  • REPORTING
  • Develops reporting for people analytics.
  • Writes, maintains and supports a variety of reports or queries using appropriate reporting tools.
  • Assists in the development of standard reports for finance, talent acquisition, business partners and government/compliance reporting.
  • Helps maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data.
  • NEW HIRE/EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY (I-9) ADMINSTRATION
  • Collection of all new hire paperwork and creation and placement in appropriate employee files
  • Accurate and timely entry of all new employees in HRIS system.
  • Completion of state new hire reporting online.
  • Ensure that managers complete the I-9 form with all new employees within required timeframe and be a resource to managers for any questions regarding the process.
  • Enter all new hires into E-Verify system upon completion of I-9 form.
  • Manages unemployment claims processing and reporting.
  • END USER SUPPORT
  • Conducts training, including developing user procedures, guidelines, and documentation.
  • Trains employees on new processes/functionality of HRIS solution
  • Serves as technical point of contact, subject matter expert and liaison for internal departments and external vendors.

Education, Training and Experience Requirements:

  • Education: This position requires a 2 or 4-year Degree in HR, Business or IT related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Work Experience: This position requires a minimum of 1-2 years of responsibility of managing employee records within an HRIS solution.
  • Demonstrated ability to support, and at times lead, cross functional projects for positive outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to pull information together in a consumable report in order to support decision making.
  • Desire to improve processes by leveraging systems and automation.
  • Strong administrative capabilities.
