Summary:

Goldbelt CP Marine, LLC is looking for a Recruiting Support Specialist to provide recruitment and position classification support services to the Smithsonian Institution, National Museum of Natural History (NMNH).

Essential Job Functions:

  • Review, write, and format position descriptions in accordance with OPM standards in preparation for classification by classifiers (or contract classifiers) in the Smithsonian Office of Human Resources
  • Provide human resources services in the functional areas of recruitment, job evaluation, position description writing and review for classification, recruitment advisory services for NMNH supervisors and managers, and special projects.
  • Work will be performed offsite from a remote/virtual location. In person meetings may be required at times.
  • Conduct desk audits.
  • Prepare job analyses and prepare a written report of findings.
  • Develop occupational questionnaires and rating plans for automated and/or manual rating and ranking of applicants.
  • Write assessment questions.
  • Review noncompetitive candidate qualifications.
  • Meet with NMNH managers to advise on and assist with recruitment processes and strategies and prepare recruitment packages for submission to OHR.

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Expert knowledge of US Office of Personnel Management rules and regulations governing Federal benefits and hiring practices and procedures.
  • Must have experience recruiting/hiring for federal government positions.
  • Ability to apply Federal Human Resource knowledge to provide consultation and advice.
  • Ability to review applications and make determinations regarding eligibility for consideration.
  • Expert knowledge of OPM qualification standards.
  • Demonstrated experience using Monster’s automated staffing system, sufficient to perform all aspects of end-to-end recruitment.
  • Skill in oral communication to provide advice.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software products.
  • Effective time-management abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience
  • MUST have experience hiring/recruiting for Federal environment.
  • Expert knowledge of OPM qualification standards.
  • MUST have job evaluation, position description writing and review for position classification
  • Must be a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Delegated Examining Unit Certification is strongly preferred
  • Recruitment advisory services for NMNH supervisors and managers, and special projects highly preferred
