- The Human Center Design Engineer shall oversee and be responsible for all aspects of a fast-pacing project serving as direct interface with the client supporting the Service Delivery Director to manage project schedules, milestones, deliverables and budget in accordance with Federal, VA standards and guidelines
- The Human Center Design Engineer will be responsible of ensuring quality customer service, provide guidance on technical solutions, and maintain a good working relationship with all customer staff and team members, in support of the program
- Work with cross-functional teams with diverse technical still-set to support successful project completion; re-plan and adjust project courses based on realities of team velocity and dynamic business/user needs
- Serve as liaison to business and technical stakeholders to ensure success of the project
- Develop and deliver persona based dashboards reporting overall system health scores based on performance metrics related to application, interface and infrastructure components while addressing different end user groups
- Play an important role in working with the enterprise command center design team, incident and event management teams to develop system requirements and solutions for the customer
- Support the development of User Interface (UI) designs based on customer specifications and guidance
- Develop and test persona-based requirements and design specifications
- Analyze user’s requests, requirements documents, and use cases to develop and mature user interface concepts
- Transform customer inputs and feedback into concept visualizations leveraging agile methodologies to develop and deliver iterative designs and enhance or streamline existing dashboard designs
- Support the software development of prototypes to facilitate interactive demonstrations of the concepts for the customer
- Guide systems engineers in formulating requirements, advise on alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies
- Develop user interface diagrams to illustrate and document the concepts and their changes
- Translate business goals into technical specifications
- Find correlations in data to discover meaningful insights
- Identify key performance indicators (KPI) to help adjust and fulfill objectives
- Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems, into ongoing operations
- Act as a liaison between the User and the development team providing support to make decisions on technical considerations and associated problems, issues or conflicts
- Assume responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Human Factors area of responsibility
- 8+ years of prior relevant experience
- Vast experience in assessing various alternative products, tools, and approaches for data management and visualizations
- Experience in requirements analysis, human-computer interface design, rapid prototyping, testing and evaluation, utilizing user-centered design processes
- Deep understanding and experience with human factor engineering
- Familiarity and experience with Splunk that allows you to search, analyze and visualize machine-generated data gathered from the websites, applications, performance monitoring tools etc.
- Familiarity with application, infrastructure and interface performance management also a plus
- Monitor toolsets, and Government compliance regulations (NIST, FISMA, 508, and similar IT, OMB and congressional mandates)
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline is required w/8 years of experience
- Eight (8) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
Clearance:
- The ability to pass a Tier 2/Modest Background Investigation
