As a Human Resource Associate, you will…

Be Accountable and Responsible

  • Work closely with the Talent payroll team to initiate the semi-monthly payroll within HRIS / payroll system to ensure all payroll exceptions are processed accurately.
  • Monitor and manage Talent Helpdesk tickets to provide MERGE employees with answers to inquiries varying from payroll and benefits to employment verifications, etc. While taking the lead also knowing when to escalate to appropriate team members.
  • Facilitate onboarding, status changes and offboarding of employees through all systems including payroll and benefits, along with other MERGE departments to ensure systems are updated in a timely manner.
  • Support the offboarding process, including exit discussions as well as administrative activity associated with employees leaving MERGE.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and the Learning & Organizational Development team to ensure the successful onboarding of new hires, including new hire orientation, MERGE University, among other initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Talent team to provide census files to benefits providers.
  • Assist with tracking and reporting of mandatory training and documentation acknowledgements to ensure compliance.
  • Serve as ambassador for the agency's culture, joining MLife to help ideas across the agency on bringing people together in a meaningful way.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition on the Internship Program, functioning as a Talent resource.
  • Support integration of tools and processes within the team and the agency.
  • Complete employment verifications, as required.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in federal and state employment law, recommending policy and protocol changes to ensure compliance.

These are the qualifications we're looking for in our Talent Associate

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2-3 years of work experience in Human Resources
  • 2-3 years experience leading or supporting processes related to payroll and benefits
  • Demeanor that exhibits professionalism and discretion at all times, understanding the importance of confidentiality
  • Proficient in Google Platforms (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to interact with employees across levels, both in person and electronically
  • Strong ability to organize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong problem solving skills and extremely detail oriented
