Human Resources Associate
Job description
Under the direction of the Coordinator of Recruitment and Retention, the position is responsible for providing administrative clerical support within the Department of Human Resources. This position registers for recruitment events and maintains the recruitment calendar, supports all VBCPS job fairs and HR recruitment activities, and responds to applicant questions related to the online ATS application.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have a thorough of knowledge of modern office procedures, business English, spelling, and editing techniques. Must have the ability to plan, organize, and successfully complete multiple tasks with accuracy; ability to work independently in the absence of detailed instruction; ability to follow up on current and past assignments with timely results; and the ability to work under pressure and interact with people of all backgrounds with tact, courtesy, and diplomacy. Must be able to maintain high level of confidentiality. Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and improve performance through management feedback. Must have the skills necessary to communicate clearly in both written and oral formats. Must be highly skilled in the use of technology and Microsoft Office Suite programs and have the ability to access the internet when approved to work remotely.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required: High school diploma or GED.
Preferred: Some college or business school courses and experience working in an office setting. Experience working with human resources management software, ADOBE, electronic signatures, E.C.M.S., Cloud Technologies and electronic signatures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public using the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Frequent sitting, grasping, fingering, repetitive motion, and reaching. Occasional walking, standing, bending, stooping, balancing, and crouching. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally. Requires timely and regular adherence to established work schedules.

Possession of a valid driver's license Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.

Hourly rate range: $18.53-$27.01
Compensation will be based on job-related creditable years of full-time, verified work experience. The entry-level rate will be awarded at the time of hire. Upon the return of employment verification forms from the candidate's current and previous employers, the rate will be adjusted if creditable full-time experience is confirmed.

Unified Experience Based Step Pay Scale: U11
