Assist the Human Resources Department with a broad variety of Human Resources-related tasks which also include filing, backup for processing payroll, and Receptionist backup.

Job Description

  • Answering employee questions while focusing on good customer service.
  • Processing and distributing Human Resources mail.
  • Creating and maintaining employee files
  • Properly filing documents into the Human Resources file.
  • Must be able to provide administrative support to the Human Resources Team.
  • Serving as a point of contact with benefit vendors//administrators.
  • Assist in maintaining systems by updating and entering data into ADP, benefit and other vendor websites.
  • Must be able to be the back-up for entering payroll.
  • Accurately receive calls, screen, and take messages.
  • Updating and maintaining employee benefits, employment status and similar records.
  • Compiling reports such as OSHA, EEO1, and Veterans 4212.
  • Creating and maintaining spreadsheets such as Applicant Tracking meeting the Office of Federal Contract Compliance (OFCC) requirements.
  • Knowledge of employment and tax law.
  • Assist with orientating new employees to the organization.
  • Assist with credentialing, audit readiness, self-audits, and audit participation.
  • Processing payroll, answering payroll questions and facilitating resolutions to any payroll error.
  • Participation in benefit tasks such as claim resolutions, performing payroll/benefit-related reconciliations, and preparing invoices for payment approval.
  • Self-motivated participation in recruitment efforts including attend job fairs, a wide variety of external job posting, and creative distribution of vacancy information.
  • Assist in developing a monthly recruitment grid.
  • Keep abreast of all required trainings including CPR, First Aide, Recipient Rights, and Person-Centered Planning.
  • Must be organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality.
  • Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction and must be able to improve performance through management feedback.
  • Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing related results as needed; assists staff in the completion of critical projects.
  • Complies with policies, practices and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Physical Demands/Work Conditions

  • Physical, mental, and emotional condition adequate for performance of the job duties.
  • Some light lifting, carrying, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Significant fine finger dexterity including ability to type, write and other small muscle movement.
  • Generally, the job requires 90% sitting, 5% walking, and 5% standing.
  • Flexibility is required.

Education/Experience/Credentials

Education

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related Field

Experience

Required

Two (2) years of experience processing payroll.

Two (2) years of experience working in Human Resources.

Experience working with electronic payroll systems.

Experience with addressing Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Laws issues pertaining to payroll.

Experience processing employee benefits.

Credentials

Required

A valid Michigan Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $42,000.00 per year
