We are seeking a highly motivated Human Resources Leader to join our team. The Human Resources Leader serves as a key member of the leadership team and will work collaboratively across the organization with professionals that are passionate, dedicated, and have a sense of shared ownership about the work they do and the clients they serve. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
This position can be remote but will need to report to our offices in Sauk City and Madison, WI occasionally. Offers for this position are contingent upon a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and employment and education verification.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Develop a Human Resource strategy that promotes a strong employee-ownership culture
- Develop, implement, and communicate personnel policies and procedures that reinforce our employee-ownership culture, and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Maintain knowledge of and ensure organization's compliance with state and federal labor laws and regulations
- Oversee benefit administration including annual re-evaluation of policies and recommendations for improvement
- Create and maintain a compensation program based on market research and best practices
- Effectively address and resolve employee complaints and concerns, including providing guidance to supervisors
- Develop and implement a robust recruitment strategy to support the growth and success of the company
- Develop and manage a performance and talent management process that drives high performance and productivity
- Create learning and development programs that provide career development opportunities for employees
- Design and implement creative employee engagement and retention strategies
- Maintain an annual plan and calendar that includes key initiatives and deadlines. Provide regular updates to executive management on current issues and progress on projects
Our ideal candidate would have:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
- SHRM - CP and/or PHR Certification is preferred
- 8+ years human resource management experience. Preferred experience in a professional services setting
- Ability to listen effectively and address situations with a high level of emotional intelligence, solid judgement, and confidentiality is required
- Experience in a multi-state employer environment is preferred
- Experience managing in office, hybrid, and remote cultures is preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Ability to effectively build rapport with employees
- Experience leading and managing an HR team
- Someone who is self-starting and enjoys both shaping the direction as well as doing the work
- Ability to effectively prioritize, work independently, work on many matters simultaneously, and demonstrate organizational skills
- Ability to study HR trends, address new and unique HR situations and provide innovative solutions
- Ability to effectively gather ideas from thought leaders, identify the best path forward, and bring the recommendation to the leadership team
