Summary

Partners with Mortgage Loan Officers in preparing well originated applications for processing. Assists the MLO in gathering all required documents from the borrowers, uploading the file to electronic folder and completing the application data in the loan origination system. A strong focus on pipeline management, a sense of urgency and exceptional time management in addition to strong communication skills (both written and verbal) are key in this role with a focus on ensuring loan applications are accurate and supporting documentation is complete. Responsible for analyzing all information and documentation. High energy, tech savvy, member-focused individual required. Position may be considered for remote / work from home status.

Job Responsibilities

• Answer incoming queue calls, send follow up email with documents required, and discussion points to MLO and potential borrower.
• Upload and label documentation in electronic folder software
• Request documents from clients to assist the MLO in the submission of a well-originated file to processing.
• Data entry on loan applications; processing data entry, closing data entry.
• Be familiar with Achieva mortgage product guidelines, secondary market guidelines, CFPB and TRID regulations.
• Communicate with members, Realtors, and others involved in the loan transaction.
• Make weekly status calls to pre-approval prospects.
• Run Desktop Underwriter / AUS systems.
• Send out packages to borrowers (electronic, email, ground, etc.).
• Status loan through “in processing” status.
• Back up MLO and Compliance Specialist to issue disclosures.
• Verify disclosures sent to borrower are correct and work with Processors to make sure that we are not missing any disclosures to efficiently send the loan to processing.
• Price and lock loans.
• Pull and review credit (order rescores, analysis, etc.).
• Instruct clients on how to improve credit.
• Participate in a weekly mortgage status / pipeline meeting with assigned MLOs.
• Track pipeline through consistent pipeline meetings with Processor to assure lead times are met as the loan moves thru the process.
• Responsible for upholding all credit union ethical standards.
• Represents the credit union in a courteous and professional manner.
• Perform other essential job functions as required or assigned.

Required Education

• High school diploma or G.E.D.

Preferred Experience

• Loan processing, consumer lending experience
• Knowledge of secondary market guidelines, Fannie Mae & or Freddie MAC, FHA/VA
• Familiar with private investor and insurance guidelines
