JOB SUMMARY: We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join the New Directions team in providing quality service to the community. This position will join with other staff in a high-level commitment to provide an excellent quality of life for the people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for the following:

• Providing nursing assessments for information about an individual's physiological, psychological, and psycho-sociological needs. The assessments is not limited to RPR blood draw and TB skin test.
• Processing of vitals and necessary documents and prior authorizations for the MDs.
• Identification of conditions for which an individual is at risk for developing, or conditions for which there have been.
• Administration of injection and coordinate RX ordering and refills
• Acts as the liaison between the individual and the physician to facilitate promotion and optimization of health outcomes. Serves to inform the individual, family, guardian, and caregivers of diagnosis and care options.
• Responsible for scheduling follow up RN appointments
• Reporting of follow up lab results
• Educates individuals, family, guardian, and caregivers about health and care options.
• Complete Health Risk Assessments for I/DD Services.
• Monitor and update all clinical documentation.
• Responsible for overseeing medication
• Ensures all staff follow the Infection Control protocols.
• Other duties within the scope of nursing practice.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Valid GA RN license

1 years’ experience in providing services/supports to individuals with developmental disabilities preferred

BLS or higher CPR certification preferred
