Position Summary

The term Graduate Assistant is the umbrella term that encompasses all types of GA appointments. Graduate Assistants are employed by the University to teach, conduct research, or assist with administrative duties in departments and non-academic units. Every attempt is made to assign Graduate Assistants to positions that are directly related to the student’s field of study or that provide the opportunity to develop transferable, professional skills. Graduate Assistantships are assigned in the department or unit and confirmed by the Graduate School.



Additional Details
Work with ICEE staff to support the LEAP Community Board, including to:
  • co-plan, co-facilitate, and co-document monthly and ad hoc Community Board Meetings
  • co-generate and co-disseminate lessons learned by and with Community Board Meetings
to advance the practice and scholarship of the LEAP CB specifically, and community boards more broadly.

Work with ICEE staff to fulfill LEAP backbone responsibilities, and other duties as assigned, such as:
support LEAP Core Research Team meetings, networking and speaker event planning and management
maintain the LEAP Website, social media, and support communications to key stakeholders
support systems to track and report on information and data collected

Compensation: Total salary to be paid over time worked is $16,000. /10 months (August 2022 through May 2023 = $1,610. per month. (However, please note that compensation will be pro-rated based off actual start and end dates). (Fall semester 2022 through Spring semester 2023).

Minimum Qualifications
To be eligible for appointments as a graduate assistant, you must:
  • Maintain academic good standing at all times (3.0).
  • Be enrolled full-time, which is generally a minimum of 9 credits.
  • Make satisfactory progress toward your degree as defined by your academic program and the Graduate School.
  • Meet the requirements to be eligible for employment in the U.S.
